Robert (Bob) Marion Froedge, Metcalfe Co., KY (1927-2016)

Bob was a retired truck driver and of the protestant faith. He was a World War II Army Veteran. He was the patriarch of a large, respected Metcalfe County, KY, family. the son of the late Oran & Lillian Hayes Froedge. His wife, Tilda Fields Froedge, survives. He leaves 11 direct and three step living descendants.

Robert Marion "Bob" Froedge, age 88, of Edmonton, KY died Friday, January 29, 2016 at his home.

Graveside services will be held 1pmCT, Sunday, January 31, 2016, at Missionary Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be after 11amCT Sunday until 12:45pmCT.

He was born March 12, 1927. He was the son of the late Oran & Lillian Hayes Froedge. He died Friday, January 29, 2016, in Edmonton, Metcalfe County, KY, at the age of 88 years, 10 months, and 17 days.

Bob was a retired truck driver and of the protestant faith. Bob was a World War II Army Veteran.

He is survived by his wife Tilda Priscilla Froedge Fields of Edmonton, KY, and the following:
  • Three children: Ray Marion Froedge of Glasgow, KY; Sharon Kay Hedgus of Cincinnati, Ohio and Wayne Froedge

  • Three step children: Lisa Darlene Lockhart of Edmonton, KY; Jeffrey Wayne Compton of Edmonton, KY; and Michael Wade Compton of Somerset, KY

  • Two sisters: Phyllis and husband Don England of Edmonton, KY; and Doris Gibson of Edmonton, KY

  • Eight grandchildren
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Junior and James Froedge; and a sister Bernice Gooden.
