Richard Thomas Billingsley, age 71, of Mosheim, TN, formerly of Monroe County, died Saturday, January 9, 2016, at his residence.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at 1pmCT, at McMurtrey Funeral Home, 2232 Summer Shade Road, Summer Shade, KY. Burial will follow in the White Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 12, 2016 from 1pm-8pmCT, and on Wednesday after 7amCT until time of services.



Richard Thomas Billingsley, Monroe Co., KY (1944-2016)


Born May 24, 1944, in Tompkinsville, Monroe Co., KY, he was a son of the late Eva Gentry Billingsley and Harley Billingsley. He died Saturday, January 9, 2016, in Moshiem, Greene County, TN, at the age of 71 years, seven months, and 16 days.

He was the husband of Sheila Billingsley, who survives.

He was a truck driver.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include:
  • Two daughters: Jennifer Martin and Melissa Billingsley, both of Glasgow, KY

  • One son: Jeremy Billingsley, Tompkinsville, KY

  • Two step daughters: Tammy and Sabrina Barksdale

  • One step son: Jeremy Barksdale

  • Two sisters: Sally Grenead, Summer Shade, KY; and Ruth Ann Crumpton, Indianapolis, IN

  • Two grandchildren: Kacie and Kayla Martin

  • Several step grandchildren

  • The mother of his children: Fay Billingsley
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother Robert "Junior" Billingsley; and one sister Virginia Wilborn
