He was a builder and mason. He was a member of a highly regarded Adair County, KY family. He was the son of the late Walter & Ruby Beard Grant. His wife, Pat Radford Grant, survives. He leaves ten direct living descendants.

Joe Grant age 76, of Columbia, KY, passed away Tuesday December 29, 2015 at 2:50pmET, at University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, KY.

Funeral service for Joe Grant will be Saturday January 2, 2016 at 11amCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Rev. Larry Wisdom the officiating clergy. Interment in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 4pmCT, Friday, January 1, 2015 at the funeral home.

He was born on February 12, 1939 in Adair County, KY. He was the son of the late Walter & Ruby Beard Grant. He died Tuesday, December 29, 2015, in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, at the age of 76 years, 10 months, and 17 days.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Victor Grant.

He is survived by his wife Pat Radford Grant of Columbia, KY and the following:
  • Three daughters: Sherry McGrath & her husband Steve of LaGrange, KY; Julie Cowan & her husband, Brian, of Columbia, KY; and Beth Ellison & her husband Bo of Columbia, KY

  • One brother: Earl Grant of Columbia, KY

  • One sister: Patricia Yates of Columbia, KY

  • Seven grandchildren: Brett McGrath, Kayla McGrath, Derek Brockman, Jake Brockman, Kylie Cowan, Haley Ellison and Emma Ellison

  • Several nieces, nephews & friends survives
Joe was a home builder, brick layer & also masonry work.
