He was a member of a large, respected Adair County centered family, the son of the late Gerald Burton and Sharon Clayton, who survives, and the grandson of the late Oddis & Mae Helen Burton and Melvin & Mary Clayton. He leaves two direct living descendants Wyatt and Scott Burton, Jr, of Cincinnati, Ohio. His final resting place will be in Adair County, KY

Scott Clayton Burton, 31, of Cincinnati, Ohio, died Thursday, December 10, 2015 at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

Graveside services, will be Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 12pmNoonCT, at Bearwallow Cemetery, 6090 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY, with burial to follow. Visitation will be from 11am-11:45amCT, Saturday, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home.

Scott was born July 2, 1981. He died Thursday, December 10, 2015, in Cincinnati, OH, at the age of 34 years, five months, and eight days.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Burton, paternal grandparents, Oddis & Mae Helen Burton, and maternal grandparents, Melvin & Mary Clayton. Survivors include:
  • His mother: Sharon Clayton of Cincinnati, OH

  • Two sons: Wyatt Burton and Scott Burton, Jr. of Cincinnati, OH

  • One sister: Teena Burton of Cincinnati, OH
