Vestora Grant, 86, Taylor Co., KY (1929-2015)

She was a native of Adair County, KY. She was member of an highly regarded Adair County, KY family. She was the daughter of the late Arnold and Willie Burbridge Coomer and the widow of Sanford Grant. She lived in Illinois for 10 years and worked at Kool-Aid and S.O. S. Pad Company. She moved to Adair County and worked at Osh Kosh B'Gosh for over 28 years. She was a long time member of Old Concord United Methodist Church in Fairplay, but after moving to Columbia, she moved her membership to Beulah Chapel Brethren in Christ Church.

Vestora Grant, 86, of Campbellsville, Kentucky, formerly of Fairplay and Columbia, KY died Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 11:10pmCT, at the Taylor Regional Hospital, Campbellsville, KY.

Vestora requested that no public visitation or funeral be held and no flowers are to be sent. Casket Bearers: Greg Coomer, Tim Jones, Ricky Coomer, Danny Grant, Dennis Grant, and David Martin.

She was born July 2, 1929, in Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Arnold and Willie Burbridge Coomer. She died Saturday, December 5, 2015, in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 86 years, five months, and three days.

She married Sanford Grant on April 16, 1949 and he preceded her in death on August 27, 1998.

She lived in Illinois for 10 years and worked at Kool-Aid and S.O. S. Pad Company. She moved to Adair County and worked at Osh Kosh B'Gosh for over 28 years. She was a long time member of Old Concord United Methodist Church in Fairplay, but after moving to Columbia, she moved her membership to Beulah Chapel Brethren in Christ Church.

Survivors include:
  • Two sons: Danny (Jeanette) Grant and Dennis (Sally) Grant all of Columbia, KY

  • One brother: Rollen (Myrna) Coomer of Columbia, KY

  • One sister: Carolyn (Charles) Jones of Columbia, KY

  • Five grandchildren

  • Six great-grandchildren

  • Two nephews

  • One great-nephew

  • and a host of other relatives and friends
