Glenwood Russell Overstreet, 83, Taylor Co., KY (1932-2015)

He was retired from Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville, KY. He was a member of Lowell Avenue Baptist Church and of Pitman Masonic Lodge 124 F & M. He was a native of Adair County, KY. He was the son of the late Walter Overstreet and Vienna Holt Overstreet and the widower of Maxine Kemp Overstreet, his wife of 43 years. He is survived by xxxx direct living descendants.

Glenwood Russell Overstreet of Campbellsville, KY, died at 4:55amCT, Thursday, November 26, 2015 in Campbellsville.

The funeral service will be at 10amCT/11amET, Saturday, November 28, 2015 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY, by Rev. Richard Steele and Rev. Alice Steele. Visitation will be 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, Friday, November 27, 2015 with a Masonic service to be conducted at 6pmCT/7pmET, at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home. Burial will be in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens, 700 Old U.S. 68, Campbellsville, KY.



Glenwood Russell Overstreet, 83, Taylor Co., KY (1932-2015)

Glenwood Russell Overstreet was the son of the late Walter Overstreet and Vienna Holt Overstreet. He was born July 17, 1932 in Adair County, Kentucky. He died at Thursday, November 26, 2015 in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 83 years, four months, and nine days.

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Lowell Avenue Baptist Church. He was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom.

He was a member of Pitman Masonic Lodge 124 F & AM.

He united in marriage to Maxine Kemp in 1960. She preceded him in death on April 10, 2003.

He is survived by the following:
  • One son and one daughter: Mitchell Overstreet and wife; and Karen and Sheila Caldwell

  • Three grandchildren: Crissy Caldwell Woods and husband, Dennis; Blake Caldwell; and Daniel Stearman and partner, Amy Todd

  • One great granddaughter: Chloe Caldwell of Campbellsville, KY

  • Three brothers and two sisters: Clarence Overstreet and wife, Virginia; and Earl Overstreet and wife, Mary of Franklin, Indiana; Kenneth Overstreet of Hanover, Indiana; Naomi Cave and Brenda Biggs Overstreet of Columbia, KY

  • One sister-in-law: Gwinn Overstreet of Franklin, Indiana

  • Several nieces and nephews

  • And many other relatives and friends
Besides his wife, Maxine Overstreet he was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister: Charles Overstreet and Eva Ross and husband, Gerald of Franklin, Indiana.
