Pauline Flanagan, 90, Russell Co., KY (1925-2015)

She was the matriarch of a highly respected Russell County, KY family. She was the daughter of the late Jonah & Leila Floyd Bennett and the widow of Hugh Mason Flanagan. She leaves 39 direct living descendants. She was a true example of a virtuous Christian woman and loved by many.

Pauline Flanagan, 90, of Somerset, formerly of Russell County, KY died Monday, November 23, 2015 at the Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, KY.

Funeral services for Pauline Flanagan will be 1pmCT, Friday, November 27, 2015 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Larry Butte officiating. Visitation will be after after 10amCT, Friday, at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Flanagan Cemetery.



Pallbearers: Sean Gasaway, Lance Hill, Jason Meadows, Ryan Flanagan, Trent Dunn, and Alec Dunn.

She was born April 10, 1925 in Russell County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Jonah & Leila Floyd Bennett. She died Monday, November 23, 2015, in Somerset, Pulaski County, KY, at the age of 90 years, seven months, and 13 days.

She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.

Pauline was a true example of a virtuous Christian woman and loved by many. She will remain in our hearts and forever be remembered. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Mason Flanagan; a grandchild, Erik Emerson; two sisters, Imogene Bell, and Clydean Bernard; and a brother, Attis Bennett.

Survivors include the following:
  • Five children: Patricia Ciresi (Phil), Louisville, KY; Pamela Emerson (Larry), Somerset, KY; Betty Meadows (Troy) Russell Springs, KY; Michael Flanagan (Pam), Somerset, KY; and Danny Flanagan, Russell Springs, KY

  • Two sisters: Doris Meyers and Delphia Moors

  • Thirteen grandchildren: Shelly Gasaway Brown, Alecia Dunn (Richie), Sean Gasaway (Susan), Amy Stewart (Tony), Lance Hill (Gina), Jill Davis (Brian), Jason Meadows, Jennifer Phillips (Shawn), Ryan Flanagan, Krista Aldred (Johnny), Rheagan Flanagan, Beau Flanagan, Rylan Flanagan

  • Twenty great grandchildren: Presley Davis, Calie Davis, Brittany Watkins, Nicole Watkins, Trent Dunn, Alec Dunn, Sophie Gasaway, Colin Gasaway, Laila Aldred, Kaleigh Hensley, Logan Hensley, Noah Stewart, Hayden Browning, Tyler Hill, Cassidy Hill, Cole Phillips, Bailey Phillips, Harley Asher, Arieal Wells, Alexa Hensley

  • One great great grandchild: Demi McNutt.
