Mary Craft Anderson, Albany, KY (1938-2015)

She was a native of Clinton County, KY, where here final resting place will be. She was a resident of Adair County, KY, at the time of her death. She was the matriarch of a large, highly regarded family. She was the daughter of the late Estill and Gussie Guthrie Craft. She leaves seven direct living descendants, in Adair, Clinton, and Russell Counties of South Central Kentucky. She was a 1957 graduate of Clinton Co. High School, and retired as a long time employee from Gaddie Shamrock in 2004. She enjoyed sitting on her deck in the backyard, trips to Florida, spending time with family and friends, her grand-dogs, but most of all being "Mama" and "Nannie." She was a member of Albany United Methodist Church and had made a profession of faith in Christ.

Mary Dean Craft Anderson, age 77, of Nolan Subdivision in Albany, passed away peacefully at 7:40pmCT, October 24, 2015, at Summit Manor Health and Rehabilitation Center in Columbia. She was lovingly surrounded by her daughters, grandchildren and family.

Visitation will be from 5pm-9pmCT, on Monday, October 26, 2015, at Talbott Funeral Home. 1106 North Cross Street, Albany, KY. Funeral will be at 11pmCT on Tuesday, October 27 at Talbott Funeral Home and will be officiated by Dr. Gerald Chafin. Pallbearers are David Wayne Jarvis, Haley Matthews, Michael Matthews, Nate Matthews, Bob Shoemaker and Robbie Shoemaker. Burial will be in Tuggle Cemetery in Albany in the Craft Family plot.

Mary Dean was born May 14, 1938 in the Huntersville community of Clinton County, KY.
She was the daughter of the late Estill and Gussie Guthrie Craft of Albany, KY. She died Saturday, October 24, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 77 years, five months, and 10 days.
She was a 1957 graduate of Clinton Co. High School, and retired as a long time employee from Gaddie Shamrock in 2004. She enjoyed sitting on her deck in the backyard, trips to Florida, spending time with family and friends, her grand-dogs, but most of all being "Mama" and "Nannie." She was a member of Albany United Methodist Church and had made a profession of faith in Christ.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers: Byron Craft, Cletis Craft, Frank Craft and Bobby Joe Craft; one sister: Barbara Matthews; and one brother-in-law: Cletis Stockton. She is survived by her brother: Gene Craft and his wife Doris of Albany, one sister: Lena Stockton of Albany; and sister-in-law Uldean Craft of Albany.

She is survived by the following:
  • Her two daughters: Teresa Anderson Richard and her husband Wallace; and Cindy Anderson Harris and her husband Mark, all of Columbia, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Kendra Leveridge Popplewell and her husband Tim of Russell Springs, KY; and Josh Richard, Noah Richard and Bailey Harris of Columbia, KY

  • One great-grandson: Luke Popplewell of Russell Springs, KY

  • And many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
