Mr. Billy Frank Blevins, Taylor Co., KY (1930-2015)

Mr. Blevins professed faith in Christ and was a member of Soules Chapel United Methodist Church. He held an associate's degree in criminal justice, and he perpetually carried himself with a quiet strength that only proven men possess. Mr. Blevins served his country with honor and integrity in the United States Army over twenty years before his retirement. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion, an avid NASCAR fan, and a talented amateur woodworker. Ever friendly, he thoroughly enjoyed leisurely times with his family and friends, both old and new.

Mr. Billy Frank Blevins, 84, of Campbellsville, KY, departed this life at the Taylor Regional Hospital, Campbellsville, KY, on October 9, 2015.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Blevins on Monday, October 12, 2015 at 12pmCT/1pmET in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1765 New Columbia Road, Campbellsville, KY 42718. Bro. Don Watson and Bro. Jon Loy will be officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET on Sunday, October 11, 2015.

Mr. Billy Frank Blevins of Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, was born on October 18, 1930, to the late John William "Bill" and Bertha A. (Rucker) Blevins. He departed this life in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, on October 9, 2015 at the age of 84 years, 11 months, and 21 days.

Mr. Blevins professed faith in Christ and was a member of Soules Chapel United Methodist Church. He held an associate's degree in criminal justice, and he perpetually carried himself with a quiet strength that only proven men possess. Mr. Blevins served his country with honor and integrity in the United States Army over twenty years before his retirement. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion, an avid NASCAR fan, and a talented amateur woodworker. Ever friendly, he thoroughly enjoyed leisurely times with his family and friends, both old and new.

He leaves to cherish his memory:
  • His wife: Brenda (Lewis) Blevins of Campbellsville, KY

  • One daughter: Karen Sue Blevins of Amarillo, Texas

  • One step-son: Eric Conley of Big Ben, Washington

  • One sister: Joyce Salmon of Campbellsville, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews

Mr. Blevins was also preceded in death by a brother, James Lee Blevins.
