Hazel Reynolds Young, 74, Burkesville, KY (1941-2015)

She was a native of Fentress County, TN, and a resident of Cumberland County, KY, at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Ransom and Thelma Beaty Reynolds. Her husband, Odis Young, survives. She leaves seven direct living descendants. She was a member of Marrowbone Baptist Church, and a retired food service supervisor at Cumberland Valley Manor, where she had worked for twenty-five years. Hazel always enjoyed her weekly meeting at the Library Bridge Club.

Hazel Reynolds Young, age 74 of Burkesville, KY passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at Cumberland County Hospital, Burkesville, KY.

Funeral service will be Saturday, October 03, 2015 at 11amCT, at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N. Main ST, Burkesville, KY with Bro. Darrell Bartley and Bro. Todd Bryant officiating. Burial will be in Burkesville Cemetery. The family requests visitation on Friday, October 02, 2015 from 4pmCT until 9pmCT, at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home.



Hazel Reynolds Young, 74, Cumberland Co., KY (1941-2015)


She was born on Sunday, January 06, 1941 in Fentress County, Tennessee. She was the daughter of the late Ransom and Thelma Beaty Reynolds. She died Wednesday, September 30, 2015, in Burkesville, Cumberland County, KY, at the age of 74 years, eight months, and 24 days.

She was a member of Marrowbone Baptist Church, and a retired food service supervisor at Cumberland Valley Manor, where she had worked for twenty-five years. Hazel always enjoyed her weekly meeting at the Library Bridge Club.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Mack Reynolds and Donald Reynolds.

Survivors include:
  • Her husband: Odis Young of Burkesville, KY

  • Two sons: Darrell Young and his wife Amy of Albany, KY, and Tommy Young and his wife Stephanie of Burkesville, KY

  • Two brothers: Robert Reynolds of Jamestown, TN, and Comer Clay Reynolds of Jonesboro, AK

  • Three sisters: Norma "Tootsie" Reagan and her husband Glen of Wildwood, FL; Betty Rhea Brown and her husband Harold of Jamestown, TN; and Shannon Marie Duncan of Jamestown, TN

  • Four grandchildren: Jason Strange, Jarred Young, Jordan Young, and Bryant Young

  • One great grandchild: Skylar Jessie Young

  • And a host of other relatives and friends also survive.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donation to Marrowbone Baptist Church.
