Mr. Bennie J.D. Tallent, 74, Burkesville, KY (1941-2015)

He was a member of the First Christian Church in Burkesville, KY, and a Pipefitter/Welder for Don-Lee Inc. He was a native of Clinton County, KY, and a resident of Cumberland County, KY, at the time of his death. He was the son of Aaron Darcus and Reba Thelma Cummings Tallent. His wife of over 54 years, Sally Thrasher Tallent, survives. He leaves two direct living descendants.

Mr. Bennie J.D. Tallent, age 74, of Burkesville, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at the Cumberland County Hospital in Burkesville, KY.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Sunday, September 6, 2015 at 2pmCT, in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N Main Street, Burkesville, KY. Burial will be in the Cave Springs Cemetery in Albany, Clinton County, Kentucky. The family will receive friends after 4pmCT, on Saturday, September 5, 2015 until the funeral hour on Sunday.



Mr. Bennie J.D. Tallent, 74, Burkesville, KY (1941-2015)


He was born in Albany, Clinton County, KY, on Sunday, July 13, 1941. He was the son of Aaron Darcus and Reba Thelma Cummings Tallent. He died Thursday, September 3, 2015, in Burkesville, Cumberland County, KY, at the age of 74 years, one months, and 21 days.

He was a member of the First Christian Church in Burkesville, KY, and a Pipefitter/Welder for Don-Lee Inc.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ida Maude Thrasher; his brothers, Guy Warren Tallent and Aaron Oakley Tallent; and his nephew, Warren Tallent.

He is survived by his wife, Sally Thrasher Tallent of Burkesville, Kentucky, whom he married on Saturday, May 20, 1961 and the following:
  • His daughter: Lesley Robin Tallent (and John) Fleshood of Elmhurst, IL

  • His brothers: Bobby (and Doris) Tallent, Johnny (and Becky) Tallent, Gary (and Arissa) Tallent, Wendell (and Sylvia) Tallent, all of Albany, KY; and Joe (and Sheryl) Tallent of Martinsville, IN

  • His sister: Ina (and Rob) Norris of New Whiteland, IN

  • One grandchild: Matthew Fleshood
