Mrs. Vennie Riley Pitcock, 97, Cumberland Co. KY (1917-2015)

She was a native of Cumberland County, KY, a resident of Louisville, KY, at the time of her death, and her final resting place will be in Cumberland County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Bessie Blythe Riley, and the widow of Donnie Carlos Pitcock. She leaves 10 direct living descendants. She was of Assembly of God faith and a Machinist for Louisville Glove Company.

Mrs. Vennie Riley Pitcock, age 97, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, August 31, 2015 at her home in Louisville, KY.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 2pmCT, in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N Main Street, Burkesville, KY, with Bro. Charles Huddleston officiating. Burial will be in the Murley Cemetery in Cumberland County, Kentucky. The family will receive friends after 12pmNoonCT on Wednesday, September 3, 2015, until the funeral hour.



Mrs. Vennie Riley Pitcock, 97, Cumberland Co. KY (1917-2015)

She was born in Cumberland County, Kentucky on Wednesday, October 31, 1917. She was the daughter of Thomas and Bessie Blythe Riley. She died Monday, August 31, 2015, in Louisville, Jefferson Co., KY, at the age of 97 years, 10 months.

She was of Assembly of God faith and a Machinist for Louisville Glove Company.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donnie Carlos Pitcock; her sisters, Jewell Riddle and Jessie Short; her brother, Ervin Riley; her daughter-in-law, Mammie Pitcock; and her son-in-law, Rufus Atkinson.

She is survived by the following:
  • Her children: Marrs Pitcock of Coxs Creek, Kentucky; and Willadean Atkinson of Louisville, Kentucky

  • Her brother: Myrl Riley of Burkesville, Kentucky

  • Five grandchildren: Mike Denton, Lavina Denton, Roger Denton, Tonya Denton, Karen Payne

  • Four great-grandchildren: Mikie Denton, Erik Pitcock, Josh Pitcock, and Shawn Payne

  • and one great-great-grandchild: Conner Pitcock
