Richard Elvin Brown, 80, Russell Co., KY (1935-2015) Richard had a deep devotion to his ministry of singing gospel music. He was the lead singer and emcee for southern gospel quartets in the Cincinnati, Ohio and Fort Wayne, Indiana areas. In this endeavor, he rejoiced to see many people accept Christ as Lord and Savior. He moved back to his home town of Russell Springs in the late 1990s. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather, as well as a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Russell Springs, KY. He also was a Veteran of United States Army. Funeral service for Richard Elvin Brown will be 10amCT, Friday, August 7, 2015 at the First Baptist Church with Pastor Jeff Griffin officiating. Visitation will be from 5pm-8pmCT, Thursday evening, August 7, 2015, at the church. Interment in the Union Cemetery (Gosser Ridge). Special music Kenneth Burnette, a friend and fellow partner, who sang many years with Richard in gospel music. He was the son of the late Aught Brown and Cloda McFarland Brown. He Died Monday, August 3, 2015, in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY, at the age of 80 years, three months, and 23 days.
