Flossie M. Beard, Green Co., KY, Adair native (1921-2015)

She was a native of Adair County, KY, and a resident of Green County, KY, at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late William Thomas Lowe and Viola Dudley Lowe. She leaves 16 direct and three step living descendants. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

Mrs. Flossie Marie Beard of Greensburg, KY, departed this life on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at the Golden Living Center-Green Hill. She was 94 years of age.

The funeral services for Mrs. Flossie Marie Beard will be conducted at 1pmCT, Saturday, August 1, 2015 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, with burial to follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery. Dr. Gary Ervin will be officiating. Visitation is requested after 9amCT, Saturday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home until time of the funeral service.



Pallbearers: Don Sidebottom, Spencer Sidebottom, Cody Nunn, Philip Nunn, Bobby Mullikin, and Philip Thomas Judd.


Flossie M. Beard, Green Co., KY, Adair native (1921-2015)


Mrs. Flossie Marie Beard of Greensburg, KY, daughter of the late William Thomas Lowe and Viola Dudley Lowe, was born on May 23, 1921 in Adair County, KY, and departed this life on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at the Golden Living Center-Green Hill, Greensburg, Green County, KY, at the age of 94 years. two months, and six days.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

She united in marriage to Thomas Jasper Paxton, who preceded her in death in 1954. She later united in marriage to Clem Taylor Beard who also preceded her in death on September 26, 2001.

Mrs. Beard was also preceded in death by a daughter: Martha Lee Mullikin on December 22, 2011; and three brothers: Eules Talbert Lowe, George Harmon Lowe, and Edgar William Lowe.

Survivors include:
  • Two daughters and a son-in-law: Patricia Ann Rogers, and Nancy and Don Sidebottom, all of Greensburg, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Debbie Judd-Nunn, Philip T. Judd both of Greensburg, KY; Bobby Muillikin of Louisville, KY; and Spencer Sidebottom of Campbellsville, KY

  • Eight great-grandchildren: Cody Nunn, Callee Nunn both of Greensburg, KY; Ashton Mullikin of Campbellsville, KY; Britanie Judd and Philip Thomas Judd both of Greensburg, KY; Zoie Sidebottom, Jaxon Sidebottom, and Brody Sidebottom all of Campbellsville, KY

  • A sister: Lois Thelma Paxton of Greensburg, KY

  • Step-children: Ginger Wilcoxson of Greensburg, KY; Cheryl Shive of Campbellsville, KY; and Marshall Taylor Beard.

  • Two sister-in-laws: Marie Lowe of Greensburg, KY; and Ida Lee Reale of Nashville, KY

  • and a host of other relatives and friends
Memorials are suggested to the Gideon Bible Fund or the Bethlehem Cemetery Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
