Mr. Billy Lee Durrett, Green County, KY (1949-2015)

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Mt. Union General Baptist Church. He was a retired Sergeant first Class veteran of Vietnam and Desert Storm having served in the United States Army. He was employed with Holley Performance Products where he was a Safety and Environmental Director. Mr. Durrett graduated from Green County High School and later received a Bachelor's Degree from Western Kentucky University.

Mr. Billy Lee Durrett of Scottsville, Kentucky, departed this life on Monday, July 20, 2015 at the Greenview Regional Hospital, Bowling Green, KY. He was 66 years, three months, and 22 days of age.

The funeral services for Mr. Billy Lee Durrett will be conducted at 1pmCT, Saturday, July 25, 2015 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Wilson Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the Marion County Veteran's Honor Guard. Bro. Stan Milby will be officiating. Visitation was requested from 11amCT until 8pmCT, Friday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and is requested after 7amCT, Saturday until time of the funeral service.



Pallbearers: Scotty Durrett, Michael Durrett, Justin Constant, Blake Milby Clay Milby, and Hunter Milby.

Mr. Billy Lee Durrett of Scottsville, Allen County, KY, a native of Green County, KY son of the late Levi Durrett and Daisy Bush Durrett, was born on Monday, March 28, 1949 in Green County, KY and departed this life on Monday, July 20, 2015 at the Greenview Regional Hospital, Bowling Green, Warren County, KY. He was 66 years, three months, and 22 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Mt. Union General Baptist Church. He was a retired Sergeant first Class veteran of Vietnam and Desert Storm having served in the United States Army. He was employed with Holley Performance Products where he was a Safety and Environmental Director. Mr. Durrett graduated from Green County High School and later received a Bachelor's Degree from Western Kentucky University. He is survived by his wife Virginia Ann Wix Durrett of Scottsville, KY, and the following:
  • Two sons and a daughter-in-law: Scotty Durrett of Upton, KY; and Michael and Jessica Durrett of Pleasuresville, KY

  • A daughter and son-in-law: Brenda and Justin Constant of Greensburg, KY

  • Two step-children: Shannon Hurt and Tracy Ward both of Scottsville, KY

  • Seventeen grandchildren: Brandi Durrett, Caitlyn Durrett, Emily Durrett, Blake Milby, Clay Milby, Hunter Milby, Lyric Milby, J.B. Constant, Jr., Miley Constant, Evan Constant, Trinity Durrett, Quintin Durrett, Blaine Durrett, Caleb Durrett, Cody Hurt, Chase Ward, Mattie Ward

  • A great-grandchild: Xander Durrett

  • A half-brother: L.D. Durrett of Campbellsville, KY

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
Mr. Durrett was also preceded in death by a grandson: Aiden Constant on January 31, 2004.

Memorials are suggested to the Gideon Bible Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
