He was a retired pressman and a member of Christ The Healer Catholic Church in Edmonton, KY, and a member of Christ the Healer Catholic Church in Edmonton, KY. His wife, Laura Hoggard Mette, Edmonton, KY, survives. He leaves five direct living descendants. His final resting place will be in his native Illinois.

Donald Eugene Mette age 95 of Edmonton, KY, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Metcalfe Health Care in Edmonton, KY.

Graveside services will be held at Glendale Cemetery in Washington, Tazewell County, IL. There was a local visitation at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, in Edmonton friday from 5pmCT until 8pmCT.



Born in Eureka, Olio Township, Woodford County, IL, he was the son of the late Arthur Henry and Susan Ebrle Mette.

He was a retired pressman and a member of Christ The Healer Catholic Church in Edmonton, KY.

He is survived by
  • His wife: Laura Hoggard Mette of Edmonton, KY

  • A son: James Mette of Washington, IL

  • Two grandchildren

  • and two great grandchildren
