Laura Ruth Lawson, passed away Monday, July 20, 2015 at her home in Liberty, KY. She was 70.

Funeral services are at 12pmCT/1pmET, Thursday, July 23, 2015 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 756 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Elvis Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Contown Cemetery. Visitation is 5pm-8pmCT/6pm-9pmET, Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at the funeral home.

Born Monday, February 5, 1945 in Casey County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Lucy Copley Hoskins. She died Monday, July 20, 2015, in Liberty, Casey County, KY, at the age of 70 years, five months, and 15 days.

She was a custodian and nurse. She was a member of the Trace Fork Separate Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, William Woodrum; three brothers, Carl, Morris and Allen Hoskins; and three sisters, Dorothy Long, Lillian Morgan, and Genova Kay Hoskins.

Survivors include her second husband, Cecil Lawson of Campbellsville, KY, and the following:
  • Two sons: Mike (and Stacy) Woodrum of Liberty, KY; and Gerald (and Christina) Woodrum of Chesapeake, VA

  • Two daughters: Deb (and Ricky) Luttrell of Liberty, KY; and Shannon (and Sam) Johnson of Liberty, KY

  • Twelve grandchildren

  • Ten great-grandchildren

  • A brother: Boyd Hoskins of Liberty, KY

  • And four sisters: Mable Morgan of Liberty, KY; Mary Ellen Morgan of Liberty, KY; Wanda Byrd of Middleburg, KY; and Jo Ann Harris of Stanford, KY
