Mr. Tim (Gordon) Thurman, 72, Glasgow, KY (1943-2015)

He was a U. S. Army Veteran, a Supervisor for Glass Construction and a Supervisor and Equipment Operator for the City of Glasgow, KY. He was a native of Clinton County, KY, and was a resident of Glasgow, KY at the time of his death. He was the son of the late William Robert and Ressie Moreland Thurman. His wife of over 32 years, Lula Bell Thurman, survives. He leaves 11 direct living descendants.

Mr. Tim "Gordon" Thurman, age 72, of Glasgow, Kentucky, formerly of Burkesville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2015 at T. J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, Kentucky. He was born in Clinton County, Kentucky on Wednesday, June 2, 1943, the son of William Robert and Ressie Moreland Thurman.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Sunday, July 12, 2015, at 1pmCT, in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N Main Street, Burkesville, KY, with Bro. Robert Carter officiating. Burial will be in the Mud Camp Cemetery in Cumberland County, Kentucky. The family will receive friends after 12pm noon CT, on Saturday, July 11, 2015 until the funeral hour on Sunday.

He was born in Clinton County, Kentucky on Wednesday, June 2, 1943, the son of William Robert and Ressie Moreland Thurman. He passed away on Friday, July 10, 2015 in Glasgow, Barren County, Kentucky, at the age of 72 years, one month, and eight days.

He was a U. S. Army Veteran, a Supervisor for Glass Construction and a Supervisor and Equipment Operator for the City of Glasgow.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy Lee Wisdom Simpson, his brother, Bobby Thurman, his sister, Marie Carter and his granddaughter, Jessica.

He is survived by his wife, Lula Bell Thurman, whom he married on Wednesday, July 28, 1982, and the following:
  • His children: Kim (and Kelly) Cook, Twana (and Pete) Estes, Marcus (and Chelsea) Thurman, all of Glasgow, Kentucky

  • His sister: Wanda (and Billy) Cole of Burkesville, Kentucky

  • Special friends: Sherry Moore, Julie Shaw, Mildred Shaw

  • Eight grandchildren

  • and six great-grandchildren
