Mary Dean Blair, 68, Pellyton, KY (1947-2015)

She was a warm outgoing person whose smile gladened the days of all she met. She was a member of a hightly regarded Northeast Adair County Family. She worked at Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville for 17 years and retired from Casey County Primary Care where she was office manager. She had professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Chestnut Grove Baptist Church in Liberty, KY. She was a native of Wess, Casey County, KY and a resident of Pellyton, Adair County, KY at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late William "Bill" Dean and Sarah Velma Wright Dean. Her husband of 49 years, Wilbert "Boss" Blair survives. She leaves nine direct living descendants.

Mary Ann Dean Blair, age 68 years, of the Pellyton Community in Adair County, KY, passed away Friday June 19, 2015 at 3:53pmCT,at her home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer.

A celebration of life will be held Monday, June 22, 2015 at 6pmCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, with Bro. Dwight Coffman, Bro. Barry Bradshaw and Bro. Steve Janes the officiating clergy. Interment will take place at the Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, on Tuesday at 10amCT. Visitation will begin on Monday, June 22, 2015, at 1pmCT, at the funeral home until time for the service.

Mary Ann Dean Blair, was born in Wess, Casey County, KY on Sunday, May 25, 1947 to John William "Bill" Dean and Sarah Velma Wright Dean. She died Friday June 19, 2015 in Pellyton, Adair County, KY at the age of 68 years, 25 days.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers Paul Dean, Ralph Dean and John Dean and by one nephew Greg Dean.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Wilbert "Boss" Blair of Pellyton, KY, and the following:
  • Two sons: Jimmy (Sheila) Blair of Columbia, KY; and Billy (Erica) Blair of Westfield, IN

  • One daughter: Kimberly (Dave) Langford of Somerset, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Kristen Burton Donahue, Andrew Blair, Quintin Blair, and Kathryn Blair

  • One great grandchild: Hyson Blair

  • Two brothers survive: James Dean of Moreland, KY; and Leonard Dean of Palmdale, CA

  • Three sisters: Betty Carmicle of Liberty, KY; Linda Peavey of Liberty, KY; and Rosa Bertram of Stanford, KY
