Parke Kramer Butts, 89, Metcalfe Co., KY (1925-2015)

He a United States Marine Veteran of WWII. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a native Union County, KY, and a resident of Metcalfe County, KY, at the time of his death. He was the patriarch of a highly regarded family now centered around Metcalfe & Barren Counties of South Central Kentucky. He was the son of the late Micharel VanBuren & Anna Mabel Kramer Butts, and the widower of Mary Galena McDowell Butts. He leaves 12 direct living descendants. His final resting place will be at Cave In Rock, IL.

Mr. Parke Kramer Butts, age 89 of Summer Shade, died June 5, 2015 at NHC in Glasgow, KY.

Visitation will be Saturday June 6, 2015 beginning at 4pmCT, at the McMurtrey Funeral Home, 2232 Summer Shade Road, Summer Shade, KY, Visitation will continue at the Rose-Gilbert Funeral Home, 11 Canal Street, Cave In Rock, IL, on Sunday June 7, 2015 from 43pm-8pmCT, and on Monday June 8, 2015 from 9am till 1pmCT, at the funeral home. Funeral services will be Monday June 8, 2015 at 1pmCT, at the funeral home with burial to follow in the Cave Hill Cemetery in Cave In Rock, Il.



Parke Kramer Butts, Metcalfe Co., KY (1925-2015)


Born July 19, 1925 in Caseyville, Union County, KY, he was the son of the late Michael VanBuren and Anna Mabel Kramer Butts. He died Friday, June 5, 2015, in Glasgow, Barren County, KY, at the age of 89 years, 10 months, and 17 days.

He a United States Marine Veteran of WWII. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include the following:
  • Three daughters: Glenda Butts (Thomas Horner) of Glasgow, KY; Mary Helen (Larry) Devore, of Edmonton, KY; and Elizabeth (Richard) Barrett of Edmonton, KY

  • Three sons: Warren P. Butts of California; David (Cindy) Butts of Indianapolis, IN; and Jimmy (Vicki Worthey) Butts of Edmonton, KY

  • One brother: Homer Kenneth (Mandy Lou) Butts of Union Co, KY

  • Six grandchildren survive, Nathaniel (Kristina) Butts, Stephen (Amber Underwood) Butts, of Bowling Green, KY; Clarissa Eich of Glasgow, KY; John P. (Carrie) Devore, and Audra (Jacob) Blasdel of Indiana; and Kyle R Butts, Washington, DC
Mr. Butts was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Galena McDowell Butts; his parents; one daughter Nora Ellen Butts, three brothers and two sisters.
