Pauline J. Hiser, Greensburg, KY, Metcalfe native (1931-2015)


She was a native of Metcalfe County, KY, and a resident of Green County, KY at the time of her death. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Calvary Methodist Church in Louisville, KY. She was a member of the Eastern Star Lodge of Leitchfield, and was a homemaker. She was the daughter of the late Lee Jessie & Mary Mercer Jessie, and the widow Lester Mudd and later of Henry "Bill" Hiser. She leaves 23 direct living descendants.

Mrs. Essie Pauline Jessie Hiser of Greensburg, KY, departed this life on Friday, May 22, 2015 at the Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville, KY. She was 84 years, three months, and six days of age.

The funeral services for Mrs. Pauline Jessie Hiser will be conducted at 10amCT. Monday, May 25, 2015 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Greasy Creek Cemetery. Bro. Landon Hadley will be officiating. Visitation requested from 4pmCT until 8pmCT, Sunday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT, Monday, until time of the funeral service.



Pallbearers: Jimmy Lenz, Robert Jessie, David Jessie, Johnnie Jessie, Anthony Parker, Taylor Russell. and J.T. Weatherford.

Mrs. Essie Pauline Jessie Hiser of Greensburg, KY, daughter of the late Lee Jessie and Mary Mercer Jessie, was born, Monday, February 16, 1931 in Metcalfe County, KY, and departed this life on Friday, May 22, 2015 in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY at the age of 84 years, three months, and six days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Calvary Methodist Church in Louisville, KY. She was a member of the Eastern Star Lodge of Leitchfield, and was a homemaker.

She united in marriage to Lester Mudd who preceded her in death on November 3, 1982. She later united in marriage to Henry "Bill" Hiser on June 2, 1996 who also preceded her in death on August 27, 2000.

Survivors include the following:
  • Two sons and a daughter: Herman Wayne Russell of Florida, Joey Russell of Leitchfield, KY; and Linda Sue Russell of Greensburg, KY
  • A sister: Pearl Tarter of Louisville, KY
  • Ten grandchildren

  • Ten great-grandchildren

  • and a host of other relatives and friends
Mrs. Hiser was also preceded in death by a son, Ernie Russell; and a brother and sister, Earl Jessie and Janie Edwards.

Memorials are suggested to the Hosparus Care Center, which can be made at the funeral home.
