Mrs. Geraldine Vera Whittle, Metcalfe Co., KY (1936-2015)

Mrs. Whittle was a retired nursing home CNA and homemaker. She was formerly of Metcalfe County and her final remains will be interred there. She was the daughter of the late Nelson and Edith Spivey Doughty. She leaves 56 direct living descendants.

Mrs. Geraldine Vera Whittle of Nashville, Tennessee, formerly of Metcalfe County, Kentucky, passed from this life on May 13, 2015 at the Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, TN.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Whittle on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 1pmCT/2pmET, at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home and Cremation Service,1765 New Columbia Road, Campbellsville, KY 42718. Bro. Craig Trumbo will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Sulphur Springs Cemetery in Metcalfe County, KY. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, May 16, 2015, from 10am-11amET until time for the service.

She was born March 19, 1936. She was the daughter of the late Nelson and Edith (Spivey) Doughty. She died Wednesday, May 13, 2015, in Nashville, Davidson County, TN. She had attained the age of 79 years, 1 month, and 24 days of age. Mrs. Whittle was a retired nursing home CNA and homemaker. She leaves to carry her legacy:
  • Three sons: Timothy Dick and wife Eva of Columbia, KY; Jeff Dick of Nashville, TN; and Johnny Dick, also of Nashville

  • Three daughters: Cindy Vaughn, Bonnie Holloway, and Carolyn Massey and husband Steve, all of Edmonton, KY

  • Twenty-four grandchildren

  • Twenty-six great grandchildren

  • And a host of other family and friends
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Dick, a half-sister Joyce Doughty, and two grandchildren, Shawna Dick and Connor Proffitt.
