Salvation Army will hold meeting on its role in disaster relief

By Debbie Cowan

You're invited to join the Adair County Salvation Army Service Unit at 9amCT, Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at Adair 911 Center, 107 N High Street, Columbia, KY, for an informative meeting about the role that The Salvation Army plays in disaster relief.

A Salvation Army Service Unit has been active in Adair County since 1997. The Service Unit is comprised of a group of volunteers that work to further the mission of The Salvation Army in Adair County by helping to address local needs. While every disaster is unique and creates its own special needs, the core of The Salvation Army's disaster program consists of several basic services.

And while these services address many of the typical needs of a disaster survivor, Salvation Army disaster relief is also flexible. Our services are adapted to the specific needs of individuals and communities and scalable according to the magnitude of the disaster.

Please join us for the meeting on Tuesday, May 19, 2015,at 9amCT at the 911 Center, 107 North High Street to learn more about how we can all work with The Salvation Army in the event of a local disaster. We look forward to seeing you there. - DEBBIE COWAN, Adair County Elementary School, Family Resource Center, Member – The Adair County Salvation Army Service Unit
