James William Selby, Glensfork, KY native (1940-2015)

Mr. Selby was a member of Green Acres Baptist Church, a veteran of the US Army and a retired employee of General Electric where he served 32 loyal years. His wife of 32 faithful years, Patricia Warren Selby survives. He leaves six direct living descendants. Those who mourn his memory include Adair County, KY, kin.

James William Selby age 74 formerly of Adair County was born Friday, June 14, 1940. He was the son of the late Finis Earl and Myrtle Samuels Selby of Glensfork, Adair County, KY, and returned to his Heavenly Father April 24, 2015, at the age of 74 years, 10 months, and 10 days.

Funeral service will be held 11amCT/12pm noon ET, Tuesday, April 28, 2015, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home, 4895 North Preston Hwy. Shepherdsville, KY (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) and use John Harper entrance). Interment in Brookland Cemetery in Brooks, Bullitt County, KY. Friends may pay their respects from 1pmCT/2pmET, until 7pmCT/8pmET, Monday, April 27, 2015, and after 10amCT/11amET Tuesday at Schoppenhorst



Mr. Selby was a member of Green Acres Baptist Church, a veteran of the US Army and a retired employee of General Electric where he served 32 faithful years.

Among those who preceded him in death include his son-in-law, Don Clark; brother, Neal Selby; and his parents.

He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Patricia Warren Selby, and the following:
  • Daughters: Dena Clark and Jill Grant (Mark)

  • Sisters, Sue Smith, Mary Logsdon, of Indiana; and by Linda (Leon) Simmons, Columbia, KY; and Becky and her husband Fred Thomas of Columbia, KY

  • Brother: Dennis and his wife Debbie Selby of Columbia, KY

  • Grandchildren: Steven Clark, Paige Maynard, Austin and Rachel Grant

  • And a host of other family and friends
