John Douglas (Shorty) Gabehart, Taylor County, KY (1953-2015)

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Lowell Avenue Baptist Church.He was a retired semi-truck driver and manager of Cox Interior truck garage for 15 plus years. He leaves six direct living descendants.

John Douglas "Shorty" Gabehart of Campbellsville, KY, son of Corinne "Polly" Carter Gabehart and the late Ernest S. Gabehart, was born October 19, 1953, in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 4:37amCT, Friday, April 17, 2015 in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, at the age of 61 years, five months,and 29 days.

The funeral service will be at 12pmCT/1pmET,, Monday, April 20, 2015 at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY, by Rev. Don Gowin. Visitation is 4pm-7pm/5pm-8pmCT, Sunday, April 19, 2015 at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, Campbellsville Burial will be in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens, 700 Old US 68, Campbellsville, KY.



Pallbearers: Mitchell Adams, C.V. Gilbert, Bud Jennette, Ty Thompson, Ronnie Walbert, and Matt Wright.

He is survived by the following:
  • Two daughters: Nicole Dicken and husband, Rongie of Campbellsville, KY; and and Angela Raines and husband, Klint of Crosby, Texas

  • Four grandchildren: Keeley Dicken, Cody Raines, Blake Raines and Kaitlyn Raines

  • His mother: Corinne "Polly" Gabehart of Campbellsville, KY

  • One brother and two sisters: Ernie Gabehart and wife, Hilda; Sharon Sue Simpson and husband, Jeff; and Pam Thompson and husband, Philip of Campbellsville, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews

  • And many other relatives and friends
