Anna Catherine (Slicky) Cook White, Green Co., KY (1935-2015)

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and farmer. She was the widow of Vernon "Wlson White. She leaves 22 direct living descendants.

Anna Catherine "Slicky" Cook White of Greensburg, Kentucky, daughter of the late Ulyss Warren Cook and Cora Velma Atwell Cook, was born on November 16, 1935 in Green County, Kentucky, and departed this life on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at her home in Greensburg. She was 79 years, four months, and 29 days of age.

The funeral services for Anna Catherine "Slicky" Cook White will be conducted at 10amCT, Thursday, April 16, 2015 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Macedonia Cemetery. Bro. Cliffton Sullivan and Bro. Mike Davis will be officiating. Visitation is requested 4pm-9pmCT, Wednesday, 15 April 2015, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT, Thursday until time of the funeral service.



Pallbearers: Robbie Simpson, Keith White, Dylan Lile, Garrett Wilson, Justin White, Joshua White and D.J. Rayburn. Honorary pallbearers: Great-grandchildren nieces & nephews.

She united in marriage to Vernon Wilson White on January 15, 1953 who preceded her in death on September 27, 2002.

Survivors include the following:
  • A daughter and son-in-law: Judy and Robert "Joe" Simpson of Green County, KY

  • Two sons and a daughter-in-law: Vernon "Tinker" and Anita White, and Sammy White all of Green County, KY
  • Six grandchildren: Robbie and Jessica Simpson of Green County, KY; Keith White of Center, Amy White, Justin White, Crystal and D.J. Rayburn all of Green County, KY; and Joshua and Brooke White of Campbellsville, KY

  • Thirteen great-grandchildren

  • Two brothers and a sister: Woodrow Cook, Herman Cook both of Green County, KY; and Burnestine Benningfield of Elkhorn, KY

  • Special caregivers: Kaye White, and Sandy Trowbridge both of Greensburg, KY

  • And a host of other relatives and friends.
Mrs. White was also preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters: Varmin Cook, Glendon Cook, Glaydean Bryant, Ada Jean Wilson, and Ernestine Whitlow.

Memorials are suggested to the Macedonia Cemetery Fund, Gideon Bible Fund, or the Kosair Children's Hospital Cancer Research, which can be made at the funeral home.
