Leava Dean Coomer, 78, of the Portland community in Adair County, died Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 11:05amCT, at the Westlake Regional Hospital, Columbia, KY.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at 11amCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia,KY, with Rev. Herbert Janes and Rev. Rod Walley officiating. Burial in Tarter's Chapel Cemetery. Visitation after 4pmCT, Monday, April 13, 2015.

She was born April 28, 1936, in Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Caleb and Nellie Posey Beard. She died Saturday, April 11, 2015, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 78 years, 11 months, and 14 days.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Louie Beard.

She was a member of Tarter's Chapel United Methodist Church and was employed by Osh Kosh B'Gosh for 29 years. Survivors include the following:
  • Her husband: Cordell Coomer of Portland, KY

  • One son: Randy "Boone" (Lisa) Coomer of Portland, KY

  • One grandson: Adam (Tara) Coomer of Columbia, KY

  • Several other relatives and friends
