Winfrey Vanoy, of Casey County, KY passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at the Casey County Hospital. He was 61.

Funeral services are 1pmCT/2pmET, Saturday, April 4, 2015 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, with Bruce Wilhelm officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. Visitation was 5pm-7pmCT/6pm-8pmET, Friday, April 3, 2015 and Saturday from 7amCT/8amET until funeral service.



Winfrey Vanoy, Casey County, KY (1953-2015)


Born Wednesday, May 6, 1953 in Casey County, KY, he was the son of the late Edward Cochran Vanoy and Catherine Mae Taylor Vanoy. He died Wednesday, April 1, 2015, in Liberty, Casey County, KY, at the age if 61 years, 10 months, and 26 days.

He was retired from Norfolk-Southern Railroad and a member of Jehovah's Witness Church. Winfrey enjoyed playing the guitar and he loved music. He enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include:
  • A daughter: Angel (and Derek) Ponder of Bethelridge, KY

  • Three grandchildren, Logan, Lucas, and Laura

  • A brother, Timothy Vanoy of Liberty, KY

  • And three sisters: Ramona Cairns of Monticello, KY; Scarlet Marotta of Liberty, KY; and Dina Vanoy of Liberty, KY.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Shelly Vanoy; brother, Weldon Vanoy; and two sisters, Janice Stayton and Bonita Denson. In lieu of flowers, donation may be given to the funeral home to help offset funeral expenses.
