Charles R. Murphy, Casey Co., KY (1934-2015)

He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a former employee of South Indiana Lumbder and Liberty Sportswear. He was born in Casey County, KY and was a resident of the county at the time of his death. He was the son of th elate Edward & Mary Sharp Murphy. His wife, Ima Jean Cochran Murphy, survives. He leaves two direct living descendants.

Charles R. Murphy, age 80 of Liberty, KY, passed away on Thursday April 2, 2015 at the Casey County Hospital, Liberty, KY.

Funeral Services will be held 12pm noon CT/1pmET, Monday, April 6, 2015 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel, 149 KY 49, Liberty, KY. Rev. Greg Powell officiating. Burial will be in the Wilson Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5pm-8pmCT/6pm-9pmET, Sunday April 5, 2015 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel.



Charles R. Murphy, Casey Co., KY (1934-2015)


He was born in Liberty, KY on Friday, August 31, 1934 to the late Edward and Mary Sharp Murphy. He died on on Thursday April 2, 2015 at the Casey County Hospital, Liberty, KY.

He was a former employee of South Indiana Lumber Co. and Liberty Sportswear and a U.S. Navy Veteran.

Survivors include his spouse Ima Jean Cochran Murphy, and the following:
  • One daughter: Angie and (Jimmy) Ashley of Liberty, KY

  • One grandson: Alex Ashley of Liberty, KY

  • Three brothers: Hollis Murphy of Liberty, KY; Vearl Murphy of Cincinnati, OH; and Joe Murphy of Yosemite, KY

  • Two sisters: Lois Sandusky and Wanda Vaught both of Liberty, KY
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Bobbie Richards and Janice Lynn and one brother, Paul Murphy.
