Fanny Bell Smith Pederson, 79, Columbia, KY (1935-2015)

She was a member of a highly regarded Adair County, KY, family. She was a member of Egypt Christian Church. She was the daughter of Luther and Malissa Rice Willis, and the widow of Robert Smith and Herman "Pete" Pederson. She leaves 21 direct living descendants spanning five generations.

Fanny Bell Smith Pederson, 79, of Columbia, KY, died Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at 3amCT, at Summit Manor Health & Rehab Center, KY.

Funeral service will be Friday, March 27, 2015 at 1pmCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Paul Patton & Bro. Steve Willis officiating. Burial will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 3pmCT, Thursday, March 26, 2015, at the funeral home.



Fanny Bell Smith Pederson, 79, Columbia, KY (1935-2015)


She was born Saturday, June 29, 1935, in Adair County, KY, to the late Luther & Malissa Rice Willis and was the widow of Robert Smith and Herman "Pete" Pederson. She died Wednesday, March 25, 2015, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 79 years, eight months, and 24 days.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Alton Willis.

She was a member of Egypt Christian Church, employed by Osh Kosh for many years and Lindsey Wilson College.

Survivors include:
  • Three sons: Gary (Phyllis) & Darrell (Donna) Smith of Greensburg, KY and Dennis Smith of Columbia, KY

  • One daughter: Patty Edwards of Columbia, KY

  • Two sisters: Norene Feese of Columbia & Viola Benaitis of Campbellsville, KY

  • Six grandchildren

  • Ten great-grandchildren

  • One great-great-grandchild
Expressions of sympathy are requested to be in the form of a donation to the Egypt Christian Church Building Fund or to Gideon Bibles. These may be left at the funeral home.
