Mildred Buis Brown, Casey County, KY (1934-2015)

She was a retired Casey County Jailer. and a member of a large, highly regarded Casey County family. She was a native of Yosemite, KY, and a resident of Liberty, KY, at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Claude and Clora Goforth Carmicle. Her spouse, Lester Brown, survives. She leaves 11 direct living descendants.

Mildred Buis Brown, age 80, of Liberty, KY, passed away on Thursday February 19, 2015 at Harrodsburg Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral Services will be held 1pmCT/2pmCT, Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel, 142 KY Hwy 49, Liberty, KY. Bro. Creech Richardson officiating. Burial will be in the Poplar Hill Cemetery.Visitation will be held 4pm-8pmCT/ 5pm-9pmET, Saturday February 21, 2015 and after 8amCT/9amET, on Sunday February 22, 2015 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel.

She was born in Yosemite, KY on April 3, 1934 to the late Claude and Clora Goforth Carmicle. She passed away on Thursday February 19, 2015 at in Harrodsburg, Mercer County, KY, at the age of 80 years, 10 months, and 16 days. She was a retired Casey County Jailer.

Survivors include her spouse, Lester Brown, and the following:
  • One son: Larry and (Connie) Buis of Yosemite, KY

  • One daughter: Vickie and (Phil) Williams of Yosemite, KY

  • Three grandchildren:

  • Six great-grandchildren

  • Seven sisters: Clarice Branstetter of Three Springs, KY; Rebecca Wheeler of Anderson, IN; Dora West and Janice Williamson both of Liberty, KY; Barbara Conner of Mt. Vernon, KY; Maxine Peevler and Carolyn Austin both of Berea, KY

  • Two brothers: Lewis Carmicle of Stanford and Phillip Carmicle of Moreland, KY
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her First Husband Etheridge Buis and One Brother: George Carmicle.
