Hattie Marie Keith, 89, Russell Springs, KY (1925-2015)

She was a native of Russell County, KY, and a resident of the county at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Noah Preston & Nancy Floyd Lawhorn, and the widow of Otha Keith. She was the matriarch of a large, highly regarded family. She leaves 27 direct living descendants. She was a member of Free Union Separate Baptist Church and a homemaker.

Hattie Marie (Lawhorn) Keith, 89, of Russell Springs, KY, died Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 3:53pmCT, at her residence.

Funeral services will be Monday, February 23, 2015 at 11pmCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbiam, KY, with Vernon Blakey officiating. Burial in Regan Cemetery, Russell County, KY. Visitation will be after 5pmCT, Sunday, February 22, 2015.



Casket Bearers: Michael Keith, Justin Keith, Zackery Keith, Bryan Russell, Kirby Russell, Troy Moore and Austyn Deel.

She was born April 22, 1925, in Russell County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Noah Preston & Nancy Floyd Lawhorn. She died Saturday, February 14, 2015, at her home in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY, at the age of 89 years, eight months, and 23 days.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Otha Keith on May 1, 1969; two brothers, Stanley and Charlie Lawhorn; two sisters, Zula Stapp and Maud Lawhorn, and one great-grandson, Dakota Allen Moore.

She was a member of Free Union Separate Baptist Church and a homemaker.

Survivors include:
  • Three daughters: Cecile Moore of Russell Springs, KY; Marlen Mondie of Columbia, KY; and Patricia Hammond of Russell Springs, KY

  • Two sons: Phillip and Ricky Keith both of Russell Springs, KY

  • Ten grandchildren: Kathy Tarter, Troy Moore, Shelly Glover, Kirby Russell, Jr., Bryan Russell, Alisha Sullivan, Aaron Keith, Michael Keith, Carrie Keith and Laura Keith.

  • Eleven great-grandchildren

  • and one great-great-grandchild
