Mildred Maurine Hood, Green Co., KY (1928-2015)

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. She was a retired line worker for Fruit of the Loom, Inc. She was a native of Green County, KY, and a resident of the county at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Johnnie Green "Bud" Bishop and Viola Shuffett Bishop, and the widow of Harvey L. Hood, her husband of 45 years. She leaves four direct living descendants.

Mrs. Mildred Maurine Bishop Hood, 86, of Greensburg, Kentucky, departed this life on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY. She was 86 years, 10 months, and 22 days of age.

The funeral services for Mrs. Mildred Maurine Hood will be conducted at 1pmCT, Sunday, February 8, 2015 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the New Salem Cemetery. Bro. Bill Davenport and Bro. Scott Coates will be officiating. Visitation is requested from 3pmCT until 8pmCT, Saturday, February 7, 2015, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT, Sunday until time of the funeral service.



Pallbearers: Keith Light, Indus Pickett , Herman Cook, Wendell Wright, Robert Boston, and Patrick Davis.

Mrs. Mildred Maurine Bishop Hood of Greensburg, Kentucky, daughter of the late Johnnie Green "Bud" Bishop and Viola Shuffett Bishop, was born on March 13, 1928 in Green County, Kentucky, and departed this life on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY. She was 86 years, 10 months, and 22 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. She was a retired line worker for Fruit of the Loom, Inc.

She united in marriage to Harvey L. Hood on August 26, 1946 who preceded her in death on July 15, 1992.

Survivors include:
  • A daughter and son-in-law: Maryola and Tommy Joe Chaudoin of California

  • Two grandchildren: Leah Carol Chaudoin, and Benjamin Chaudoin both of California

  • A great-grandson: Andrew Atticus Price of California

  • and a host of other relatives and friends
Mrs. Hood was also preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers: Vera Davenport, Veechie Davis, Nan Light, Willie Bishop, Ivan Bishop, Cecil Bishop, and Elmer Bishop.
