Opal Kelsay McInteer, Adair County, KY (1932-2015)

She was born in Gradyville, KY, and was a resident of Columbia, KY at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Jim Ed and Mary Liz Richards. She was the matriarch of a large, respected Adair County, KY family. Mrs. McInteer was a homemaker and of the Christian faith.

Opal Kelsay McInteer, age 82 years of Columbia, KY passed away Friday, January 30, 2015 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, KY

Funeral services will be Monday, February 2, 2015 at 1pmCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Rev. Glenn McInteer the officiating clergy. Interment in the Freedom Cemetery. Visitation will begin after 4:30pmCT, on Sunday, February 1, 2015, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary.

Pallbearers: Austin Bragg, Mike Bragg, Ray Bragg, Benny Courtney, Mike Allen, Blake Allen



Opal Kelsay McInteer, Adair County, KY (1932-2015)

She was born in Gradyville, KY on Friday, June 3, 1932 the daughter of the late: Jim Ed and Mary Liz Janes Richards of Adair County, Kentucky. She died Friday,m January 30, 2015, in Somerset, Pulaski County, KY, at the age of 82 years, seven months, and 23 days.

She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Silas Kelsay on March 16, 2007.

She later married James McInteer of Columbia , KY who survives.

Besides her husband James McInteer she is survived by:
  • Two sons: Carl Junior Kelsay and wife Maylene of Columbia, KY, and James Randy Kelsay of Columbia, KY

  • Four daughters: Frances Courtney and husband Tommy of Somerset, KY; Lola Coy and husband Larry of Columbia, KY; Mary Wanda Kelsay of Columbia, KY; and Lisa Courtney of Breeding, KY

  • Twelve grandchildren

  • Several great grandchildren

  • Several nieces and nephew and a host of friends
Mrs. McInteer was a homemaker and was of the Christian faith. Send a condolence to the family of Opal Kelsay McInteer
