Mrs. Elizabeth K. (Kitty) Bloyd, 88, Green County, KY (1925-2015)

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Liberty Missionary Baptist Church. She was the previous owner and operator of the Brush Creek Grocery. She was a native of Hart County, KY, the daughter of the late Bro. Joseph L. Bush and Delolna Dennison Bush. Her husband of 36 years, Milton Creed Bloyd, survives. She leaves 59 direct living descendants, spanning four generations.

Mrs. Elizabeth K. "Kitty" Bloyd of Summersville, KY departed this life on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at her residence in Green County.

The funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth K. "Kitty" Bloyd will be conducted at 1pmCT, Sunday, February 1,2015, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, with burial to follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 700 Old US 68, Campbellsville, KY. Visitation will be from 2pm until 8pmCT, Saturday, January 31, 2015, and after 7amCT, Sunday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home. Pallbearers: W.L. Walker, Brandon Walker, Scott Walker, Ricky Edmondsm Billy Bloyd , and Mark Bender.

Mrs. Elizabeth K. "Kitty" Bloyd of Summersville, daughter of the late Bro. Joseph L. Bush and Delona Dennison Bush, was born on June 12, 1925 in Hart County, Kentucky and departed this life on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at her residence in Green County. She was 89 years, seven months, and 17 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Liberty Missionary Baptist Church. She was the previous owner and operator of the Brush Creek Grocery.

She is survived by her husband of 36 years Milton Creed Bloyd, whom she married on September 22, 1978.

Other survivors include:
  • Two sons and a daughter-in-law: Bobby Lewis Bragg of Indiana and Billy Bloyd; and Becky Bloyd , all of Summersville, KY

  • Seven daughters and three sons-in-law: Donna Gail Bender of Pennsylvania; Kathy Carlyene and W.L. Walker of Greensburg,, KY; Sandra Kay and Johnnie Walkup of Campbellsville, KY; Yolanda Lynn Gilkeson of Greensburg, KY; Ronnadeane Allen Bertram of Horse Cave, KY; Sherry Lynn Bloyd of Summersville, KY; and Gayle and Ricky Edmonds of Summersville, KY

  • Sixteen grandchildren

  • Twenty-seven great-grandchildren

  • Seven great-great-grandchildren

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
She was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers: Daisey Durrett, Nora West, Ed Bush, Bill Bush, Robert Bush, and Robert Bush.
