Ray Morris Pennington age 73 of Summer Shade, KY, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2015 at his home.

Funeral services will be held 1pmCT, Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, with burial in the Asbury-Center Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5pmCT until 8pmCT, Tuesday, January 27, 2015 and after 9amCT, Wednesday at the funeral home.



He was the son of the late Jill and Lovie Matney Pennington. He was a farmer and member of the Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Pennington, of Summer Shade, KY, and the following:
  • Two sons: Timmy Pennington of Center, KY; and Julian Pennington of Glasgow, KY

  • One daughter: Shannon Childress of Glasgow, KY

  • Two brothers: Carl Reid and Jimmy Depp Pennington both of Center, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Tony Pennington, Megan Pennington, Natalie Simpson and Cody Pennington

  • Five great grandchildren

  • Four step children: Teresa Shaw of Smith Grove, KY; Vickie Caudill of Auburn, KY; Roger London of Hadley, KY; and Randall London of Summer Shade, KY

  • Two step grandchildren

  • And two step great grandchildren
