Mrs. Janice (Jan) Watson Key, Cumberland Co., KY (1945-2015)

She was a member of Christian Chapel Church of Christ and was the Director of Purchasing for 45-plus years at Cumberland County Hospital in Burkesville, KY. She was a native of Cumberland County, KY, and a resident of the county at the time her death. She was the daughter of rude and Bernice Neeley Watson. Her husband of 45 years, Wayne Key, survives. She leaves three direct living descendants.

Mrs. Janice "Jan" Watson Key, age 69, of the Christian Chapel Community in Cumberland County, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, January 23, 2015 at 3pmCT, in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N Main Street, Burkesville, KY, with Bro. Tommy Watson officiating. Burial will be in the Christian Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1pmCT. Thursday, January 22, 2015 until the funeral hour on Friday.

She was born in Cumberland County, Kentucky on Saturday, April 14, 1945, the daughter of Drude and Bernice Neeley Watson. She died Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee.

She was a member of Christian Chapel Church of Christ and was the Director of Purchasing for 45-plus years at Cumberland County Hospital.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Joe Watson.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne Key, Burkesville, KY, whom she married on Wednesday, April 23, 1969, and the following:
  • Her daughter: Melissa Key (and Paul) Stalcup, Burkesville, KY

  • Her brother: Jack (and Wilma) Watson, Burkesville, KY

  • Her grandchildren: Keylee Stalcup, and Kaden Stalcup, all of Burkesville, KY

  • And a host of other relatives and many friends.
