Delmer W. Lee, Creelsboro, KY native (1919-2015)

He was a native of Creelsboro, Russell County, KY, and a longtime resident of Indiana at the time of his death. He was the son of the late Oakley A. and Cora Flatt Lee. He was a widower of first Loma F. Thurston Lee and then Alma Wilson Lee. He leaves many relatives in Indiana and elsewhere, including a sister and brother in Columbia, Adair County, KY. He had been a New Castle resident since 1943 and was retired from Ingersoll Steel Corporation in 1977 after thirty-three years of service. He was also engaged in farming for many years. Delmer was a member of the Jamestown, KY Mason Lodge.

Delmer W. Lee, age 95, longtime New Castle, IN resident passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at the Spring Hurst Healthcare Center in Greenfield, IN.

Friends may visit from 11amCT/12pm noon ET until 1pmCT/2pmET Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Macer-Hall Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 600 S Main Street, New Castle, IN. A graveside service will follow at 1pmCT/2pmET, Saturday, January 10, 2015 at South Mound Cemetery, 505 Bundy Avenue, New Castle, IN.


Delmer W. Lee, Creelsboro, KY native (1919-2015)

He was born September 16,1919 in Creelsboro, Russell County, KY, a son of the late Oakley A. and Cora Flatt Lee. He died Wednesday, January 10, 2015 in Greenfield, IN at the age of 95 years, three months, and 25 days.

He had been a New Castle resident since 1943 and was retired from Ingersoll Steel Corporation in 1977 after thirty-three years of service. He was also engaged in farming for many years. Delmer was a member of the Jamestown, KY Mason Lodge.

He married Loma F. Thurston in 1939 and married Alma E. Wilson in 1960; they both preceded him in death.

Left to cherish his loving memory include:
  • Two sons: Delmer David Lee (wife Tanna) of Shawnee, OK; and Stephen Wayne Lee (wife Pam) of Bonita Springs, FL

  • Six grandchildren: David, Melissa, Terry, Scott, Erin and Stephanie

  • Two sisters: Irene Groce of Columbia, KY and Lena Fowler of Indianapolis, IN>

  • One brother: Richard Lee of Columbia, KY

  • Several nieces, nephews and cousins survive
Delmer was preceded in death by one son, James Marion Lee and three brothers, Paul, Arvis and Herman.

Macer-Hall Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 600 S Main Street, New Castle, IN., in charge of arrangements.
