Hazel J. (Young) Morrison, Adair Co., KY (1929-2014)

She was a native of Cumberland County, KY, and was a resident of Adair County, KY, at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Jesse and Mattie (Bean) Young and the widow of Jim Morrison. She leaves 15 direct living descendants.She was a homemaker, sold Avon and worked at Easy Wash Laundromat in Chesterfield, IN. She was a member of Eastview Church of the Nazarene and played music at various nursing homes.

Hazel J. (Young) Morrison, 85, formerly of Chesterfield, IN died, Sunday, December 28, 2014 at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville, KY, after an extended illness. She lived in Columbia, KY

Services will be 1pmCT/2pmET, Monday, January 5, 2015 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service, 229 South Rangeline Road, Anderson, IN with Rev. Paul Trent of Parkview Wesleyan Church officiating. Burial will be in Bronnenberg Cemetery in Chesterfield, IN. Visitation will be 11amCT/12 noon ET, until the service at 1pmCT/2pmET at the funeral home.

She was born December 24, 1929 in Burkesville, Cumberland County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Jesse and Mattie (Bean) Young. She died Sunday, December 28, 2014 at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 85 years, four days. She was a homemaker, sold Avon and worked at Easy Wash Laundromat in Chesterfield, IN.

She was a member of Eastview Church of the Nazarene and played music at various nursing homes.

Survivors include the following:
  • Her three daughters. Janet (David) Strout and Nancy (Tommy) Tompkins all of Columbia, KY; and Sherelle Morrison of Anderson, IN

  • Eight grandchildren

  • Four great grandchildren

  • and several nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jim Morrison, whom she married August 23, 1947 in Burkesville, KY and her three brothers, Hall Young, Hildreth Young, Billy Young and a grandson, Buddy Buck.

Memorial contributions may be given to Alzheimer's Association or the American Cancer Society.
