Russell Daniel Sieg, Adair County, KY (1925-2014)

He was a native of Frenchtown, IN, and a resident of Adair County, KY, at the time of his death. He was thee son of the late Loran Daniel and Isabella Magdalene Arnold Sieg. His wife, Eleanor Teague Hanson Sieg, survives. He was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, a US Navy veteran, serving in World War II, was a retired mechanic from TARC in Louisville, a member of the American Legion and VFW.

Russell Daniel Sieg, 89, of Columbia, died Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at 7:10 P.M. at Norton Hospital in Louisville, KY.

Funeral Mass, Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 9amCT, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 1217 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Father David Naylor officiating. Entombment in Evergreen Cemetery Mausoleum in Louisville, KY. Visitation after 5pmCT, Friday, January 2, 2014, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY.



Russell Daniel Sieg, Adair County, KY (1925-2014)

He was born Saturday, July 23, 1925, in Frenchtown, Harrison County, Indiana. He was the son of the late Loran Daniel and Isabella Magdalene Arnold Sieg. He died Wednesday, December 31, 2014, in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, at the age of 89 years, five months, and eight days.

He was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, a US Navy veteran, serving in World War II, was a retired mechanic from TARC in Louisville, a member of the American Legion and VFW.

Survivors include the following:
  • His wife: Eleanor Teague Hanson Sieg of Columbia, KY

  • Three children: Leslie Michael Sieg of Oregon; Russell Daniel Sieg, Jr., of Ramsey, Indiana; and Karen Patricia Duke of Colorado

  • Several step-children including: Janet Wolfe, Michael Hanson, Ann St. Clair, Mark Hanson, Richard Hanson & Glenda Harvey

  • Four siblings: Edward Bernard Sieg, Charles John Sieg, Mary Frances Johnson & Geneva Crawford all of Indiana

  • Several grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation to Good Shepherd Catholic Church which may be left at the funeral home or church.
