Mr. Carvil Winfrey Watson, 77, Cumberland Co., KY (1937-2014)

He was a member of the College View Church of Christ where he served as an Elder for 12 years, a U. S. Army Veteran having attained the rank of Sergeant, a member of the U. S. Army Reserve during the Berlin Crisis and an employee of General Electric. He was a native of Cumberland County, KY, and a resident of LaRue County, KY, at the time of his death. His wife of over 53 years, Bethada Williams Watson, survives. He leaves five direct living descendants.

Mr. Carvil Winfrey Watson, age 77, of Buffalo, Kentucky, formerly of the Hegira Community in Cumberland County, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 2pmCT, in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N Main Street, Burkesville, Kentucky with Bro. Jacob Holman and Bro. Raymond Castillo officiating. Burial will be in the Christian Chapel Cemetery in Cumberland County, Kentucky. The family will receive friends after 10amCT, on Saturday, December 20, 2014 until the funeral hour.



Mr. Carvil Winfrey Watson, 77, Cumberland County, KY (1937-2014)

He was born in Hegira, Cumberland County, Kentucky on Sunday, September 26, 1937. He was the son of Culbert and Alma Williams Watson. He died Tuesday, December 16, 2014 in Elizabethtown, Hardin County, Kentucky at the age of 77 years, two month, and 20 days.

He was a member of the College View Church of Christ where he served as an Elder for 12 years, a U. S. Army Veteran having attained the rank of Sergeant, a member of the U. S. Army Reserve during the Berlin Crisis and an employee of General Electric.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his niece, Nancy Drury.

He is survived by his wife, Bethada Williams Watson of Buffalo, Kentucky, whom he married on Saturday, June 3, 1961, and the following:
  • His sons and daughters-in-law: Robert and Stacy Watson of Hodgenville, Kentucky; and Richard and Kim Watson of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky

  • His brother and sister-in-law: Perry C. and Evelyn Watson of Versailles, Kentucky

  • His grandchildren: Paul, Christa and Jessica

  • and a host of relatives and friends.
