Curtis Cravens, Waynesburg, KY (1952-2014)

He was a retired factory worker and a former Fire Chief at the Waynesburg Fire Department Station #5. He loved 4 wheeling and being outdoors. He enjoyed fishing. He was the son of Thelma Rose Shell Cravens, who survives and the late James Merle Cravens. His wife of over 26 years, Aunda Durham Cravens, survives. He leaves seven direct living descendants.

Curtis Cravens, of Waynesburg, KY, passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at the Casey County Hospital, Liberty, KY. He was 62.

Funeral services are 10amCT/11amET, Saturday, December 13, 2014 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Ronnie Haste officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation is 5pm-8pmCT/6pm/9pmET, Friday f at the funeral home.



Curtis Cravens, Waynesburg, KY (1952-2014)


Born Sunday, January 20, 1952 in Boyle County, KY, he was the son of Thelma Rose Shell Cravens of Liberty, KY, and the late James Merle Cravens. He died Wednesday, December 10, 2014 in Liberty, Casey County, KY, at the age of 62, 10 months, and 20 days.

He was a retired factory worker and a former Fire Chief at the Waynesburg Fire Department Station #5. He loved 4 wheeling and being outdoors. He enjoyed fishing.

Other survivors include his beloved wife, Aunda Durham Cravens, whom he married September 20, 1978, and the following:
  • Three daughters: Barbie (and Allen) Taylor of Indianapolis, IN; Danea (and Eric) Carman of Bethelridge, KY; and Keisha Cravens (and Ernie Carter, Jr.) of Eubank, KY

  • four grandchildren, Tuesday, Aryan, Dylan and Brandon

  • A brother: Ronald Lee Cravens of Liberty, KY

  • Two sisters, Mildred (and Doug) Mills of Liberty, KY; and Jean Cravens of Versailles, KY
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to help offset funeral expenses.
