He was a native of Green County, KY, and a resident of Columbia, Adair County, KY. He was the son of the late Jessie and Beulah Oaks Howard. He leaves six direct living descendants.

George William Howard, 74, of Columbia, died Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 11:34amET, at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville, KY.

The Funeral service will be Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at 11amCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Herbert Janes officiating. Burial will be in Greensburg City Cemetery, N Main Street, Greensburg, KY. Visitation will be after 4pmCT, 8 Monday, December 8, 2014, at the funeral home.



R Casket Bearers: Robbie Howard, Johnny Morgan, Marvin Morgan, Jeffrey Howard, Steve Stearman, William Corbin, Adam Howard, and Larry George.

George William Howard, 74, Adair County, KY (1940-2014)

He was born March 18, 1940, in Greensburg, Green County, KY. He was the son of the late Jessie and Beulah Oaks Howard. He died Saturday, December 6, 2014 in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 74 years, eight months, and 19 days.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Mitzi Rogers.

He was a member of Tarter's Chapel United Methodist Church.

Survivors include the following:
  • One son and daughter-in-law: Adam and Tonya Howard of Columbia, KY

  • One daughter: Sherry Howard Morris of Campbellsville, KY

  • One brother: Billy (Gwen) Howard of Greensburg, KY

  • Three sisters: Doris Henderson and Lois Henderson both of Greensburg, KY; Mae (Bill)Handy of Florida

  • Four grandchildren: Stephanie Bright, Robbie Howard, Jeffrey Howard, and his special granddaughter, Kaitlynn Howard

  • Several other relatives and friends
