Willie (Billy) Brewington, Cumberland Co., KY (1938-2014)

He was retired from Armour Foods after 30 years of service, and was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in the Vietnam War and will be accorded military honors at commital service. He was a native of Cumberland County, KY and a resident of Jefferson County, KY, at the time of his death. He was hte son of he late marvin and Nannie Clyde Spear Brewington. His wife, Betty Brewington, survives. He leaves 14 direct living descendants.

Willie "Billy" Brewington age 75 of Louisville, KY formerly of Burkesville, KY passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at the Louisville V.A. Medical Center.

Funeral service will be Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 10amCT, at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 North Main Street, Burkesville, KY with Bro. Raymond Castillo officiating. Burial in Dodson Cemetery with military honors by Glasgow D.A.V. Chapter 20. The family requests visitation on 12pm noon until 9pmCT, Friday, at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home.

Billy was born on December 08, 1938 in Cumberland County, KY to the late Marvin and Nannie Clyde Spear Brewington. He died Wednesday, November 26, 2014, in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, at the age of 75 years, 11 months, and 18 days.

He was retired from Armour Foods after 30 years of service, and was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in the Vietnam War. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by five siblings, Paul Brewington, Jewell Smith, Lyle Simpson Brewington, Keith Brewington, and Robert Brewington.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Brewington of Louisville, KY, and the following:
  • Two sons; Bruce Stolsworth and his wife Danette of Salisbury, North Carolina, and Scott Brewington of Louisville, KY

  • One daughter: Brenda Watts and her husband Daniel of LaGrange, KY

  • Three brothers: Kenneth Brewington, and Reid Brewington and his wife Nancy all of Burkesville, KY, and Fred Brewington of Indianapolis, IN

  • Two sisters: Gertie Collins of Burkesville, KY and Pearl Janes and her husband Noah of Hodgenville, KY

  • Seven grandchildren: Patrick Lengenfelter, Bailey Stolsworth, Payne Stolsworth, Scott (Julie Ann)Brewington, Jared Brewington, Nathaniel (Jenna) Watts, Rebecca (Donald) Shuck

  • Four great grandchildren

  • and a host of other relatives and friends
