Mr. William Robert "Billy" Abell departed this life on Friday, November 21, 2014 in Campbellsville, KY.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Abell conducted at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1765 New Columbia Road, Campbellsville, KY on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 10amCT/11amET. Bro. Blake Jessie will be officiating. Interment will follow in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 700 Old US 68, Campbellsville, KY. Visitation will be 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home.

Mr. William Robert "Billy" Abell was born in Marion County, Kentucky on September 15, 1934 into the marriage of Conrad and Georgie (Murphy) Abell. He departed this life on Friday, November 21, 2014 in Campbellsville having attained the age of 80 years, two months, and six days.

Mr. Abell was married to Mrs. Wilma (Hicks) Abell, who preceded in death. He had a strong work ethic, and was a carpenter and mechanic by trade. Mr. Abell professed faith in Christ, and was a member of the White's Ridge Baptist Church. He leaves to cherish his memory:
  • One daughter: Debbie Graham and husband Rick of Campbellsville, KY

  • Two sons: Billy Abell and wife Rebecca of Springfield, KY; and Robbie Abell and wife Connie Jo of Elizabethtown, KY

  • Three sisters: Jean Lanham of Lebanon, KY; Pearly Singleton of Junction City, KY; and Gertrude Lane of Stanford, KY

  • Nine grandchildren: Jason Keltner, Derrick Keltner, Ricky Graham, Robin Fox, Tonya Abell, Billy Lee Abell, Amanda Burnside, Rebecca Martin, and Mack Abell,

  • Several great-grandchildren

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
Besides his wife and parents, Mr. Abell was preceded in death by two daughters, Barbara Jean Miller and Diane Corbia.
