Lois Bowen Mills, age 88 years, of Campbellsville, KY, died at 5pmCT, Wednesday, November 19, 2014 in Campbellsville.

Funeral service will be at 10amCT/11amET, Monday, November 24, 2014 at Campbellsville Memorial Gardens, 700 Old US 68, Campbellsville, KY by Rev. Larry "Fella" Wilson. Burial will following in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.



Lois Bowen Mills, age 88, Taylor Co., KY (1926-2014)


Lois Bowen Mills of Campbellsville, KY was the daughter of the late David Bowen and Elizabeth Murrah Bowen. She was born in Adair County, Kentucky, Thursday, February 18, 1926. She died Wednesday, November 19, 2014 in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 88 years, nine months, and one day.

She was a retired hairdresser and employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville.

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Woodlawn Christian Church.

She united in marriage to L. C. Mills, who preceded her in death in 1960.

She is survived by the following:
  • Three daughters: Beverly England and husband, Don of Campbellsville, KY; Kaye Compton of Middleburg, Florida; and Angela Colvin of Terra Haute, Indiana

  • Four grandchildren: Wes England, Stacy Meek, Stephanie Cobb and John Kohr

  • Six great-grandchildren

  • Several nieces and nephews

  • And many other relatives and friends
She was preceded in death by a son, John David Mills in 1978 and three brothers and five sisters: Walter Bowen, Leonard Bowen, Arvin Bowen, Anne Bault, Marie Cox, Mary Humphress, Mae Hunt and Creola Allen.
