Marjorie (Margie) Tucker, 83, Adair Co., KY |1931-2014|

Marjorie was a member of the Roley and now, Knifley Christian Church. She retired from Union Underwear. She was a native of Adair County, KY, and will be laid to rest in Adair County, KY at Roley. She a resident of Taylor County, KY, at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Shelby and Virgie Williams. She was the widow of the late Earl Tucker. She leaves one surviving sibling and 14 direct living descendants.

Marjorie "Margie" Tucker, 83, wife of the late Willard Earl Tucker died at the University of Kentucky Medical Center on Friday, November 14, 2014, at 12:24pmET.

Funeral services will be at 10amCT/11amET,. Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at the Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home, 503 E. Main St., Campbellsville, KY, with Bro. Hugh Withers officiating. Burial will follow in the Roley Cemetery, 14399 Knifley Road, Casey Creek, KY. Visitation will be 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, Tuesday, November 18, 2014, at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home.



Pallbearers will be her five grandsons and grandson in law, Josh Tucker, Lexington, KY; Chad (Virginia) Gilpin, Louisville, KY; Will (Laura) Tucker, Mt. Vernon, KY; Austin (Tiffany) Tedder, Campbellsville, KY; Trevor Tucker, Lawrenceburg, KY; and Michael McAfee, husband of granddaughter, Cara, Danville, KY.

Born Wednesday, February 18, 1931 in Casey Creek, Adair County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Shelby and Virgie Williams. She died Friday, November 14, 2014, in Lexington, Fayette County, KY, at the age of 83 years, eight months, and 27 days.

Marjorie was a member of the Roley and now, Knifley Christian Church. She retired from Union Underwear.

Survivors include the following:
  • Three sons: Don (Marilyn) Tucker, Nicholasville, KY; Buster (Pam) Tucker, Berea, KY; and Louis (Shawn) Tucker, Lawrenceburg, KY

  • A daughter, Patty (George) Gilpin, Nicholasville, KY

  • Six grandchildren

  • Four great-grandchildren

  • And a son-in-law, Terry Tedder, husband of her late daughter, Phyllis

  • Her only surviving sibling, Peggy Harrison lives in Knifley and has been a tremendous blessing to Marjorie and family, especially since her prolonged illness while residing at the Grandview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Preceding her in death were her brothers, Glenwood, S.L. and Vernon Williams; and a sister, Barbara Spires.

The family would like to sincerely thank Grandview Nursing Home Staff for their loving care given to Mother over the past 19 months. This facility truly is a home away from home and a wonderful place to meet people who care sincerely for others and their needs. Dr. Dixon has been more than Mother's Physician.
