Mrs. Wilda Pearl Turner, Metcalfe County, KY, (1917-2014)

She was an owner/operator of Turner's Cafe and Shell Station in Horse Cave, KY. and she was head of the Greensburg Senior Citizens for 27 years. She retired at the age of 90. She was the daughter of the late Clarence & Cindy Stilts Atwell of Center, Metcalfe County, KY. She was the widow of Lester Turner. She leaves seven direct living descendants, five of whom are residents of Columbia, KY. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Shady Grove Baptist Church.

Mrs. Wilda Pearl Turner departed this life Friday, November 7, 2014 at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg, KY..

Funeral service will be at Shady Grove Baptist Church in Metcalfe County, KY, at 11amCT, Wednesday, November 12, 2014. Visitation will be 5pm-8pmCT, Tuesday, November 11, 2014, Wednesday at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home, 209 W Court Street, Greensburg, KY and after 10amCT, Wednesday, at Shady Grove Baptist Church until the funeral hour at 11amCT. And after 10 a.m. Wednesday at Shady Grove Baptist Church until the funeral hour. Ministers officiating will be Bro. Bobby Wood and Bro. Wayne Wilson.



Pallbearers: David Coates, Ricky Atwell, Bill Jewell, Josh McCubbin, Jonathon Wilcoxson, Rex Combs

Honorary Pallbearers: David McCubbin, James Ray Rock

Mrs. Wilda Pearl Turner was born Wednesday, December 24, 1917 in Metcalfe County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Clarence and Cindy Stilts Atwell. She departed this life Friday, November 7, 2014 at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg, Green County, KY, having attained the age of ninety-six years, ten months and thirteen days.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Shady Grove Baptist Church.

She was an owner/operator of Turner's Cafe and Shell Station in Horse Cave, KY. and she was head of the Greensburg Senior Citizens for 27 years. She retired at the age of 90.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Turner; one infant son: Lester Turner, Jr; pne daughter: Alma Thompson, and several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her granddaughter:
  • Linda Doss (Michael) of Columbia, KY

  • Three great grandchildren: Jason Turner (Staci) of Antioch, Tennessee; Matthew Aaron Turner of Campbellsville, KY; and Ashley Sheree Turner of Columbia, KY

  • Three great great grandchildren: Ryan Hogan, Cayden Murphy and Ethan Murphy, all of Columbia, KY

  • Plus a host of other relatives and friends.
