Christine Frances Brown, Casey Co., KY (1928-2014)

She was a homemaker and a member of the Walnut Hill Separate Baptist Church. She enjoyed singing and working in her rose garden. She was the matriarch of a highly regarded Casey County, KY family. She was the daughter of the late J.W. Baxter and Myrtle Owens Baxter and the widow of Clyde Brown. She leaves 22 direct living descendants, including two daughters living in Adair County, Pamela Farr of Columbia, KY; and Linda Collins of Glens Fork

Christine Frances Brown, of Casey County, KY, passed away Saturday, October 18, 2014 at the Celina Health & Rehabilitation in Celina, Tennessee. She was 86.

Funeral services were at 10amCT/11amET, Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Clifton Cowan and Bro.Rodney Smith officiating. Ms. Christine will be laid to rest in Casey County Memorial Gardens. Visitation was Tuesday, October 21, 2014 5pm-8pmCT/6pm-9pmET at the funeral home.

Born Friday, April 13, 1928 in Casey County, KY, she was the daughter of the late J.W Baxter and Myrtle Owens Baxter. She died Saturday, October 18, 2014, in Celina, Clay County, TN, at the age of 86 years, six months, and five days. She was a homemaker and a member of the Walnut Hill Separate Baptist Church. She enjoyed singing and working in her rose garden.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clyde Brown, who died November 17, 2008; a son, Gary Brown; one brother; and four sisters.

Survivors include:
  • A son: Gale (and Linda) Brown of Liberty, KY

  • Two daughters: Pam (and Dan) Farr of Columbia, KY; and Linda (and Mike) Collins of Glens Fork, KY

  • Six grandchildren

  • Twelve great-grandchildren

  • Two great-great-grandchildren

  • And three sisters: Marie Roy of Indiana; Malline McDonald of Casey County, KY; and Allie Masson of Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to Gideons Bibles in memory of Christine Frances Brown.
