Carles M. Fields age 89, of Glasgow, KY, died Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Barren County Health Care in Edmonton, KY.

Graveside services will be held at 1pmCT, Saturday, September 27, 2014 at New Liberty Cemetery near Edmonton, KY. There will be no visitation.



Formerly of Metcalfe County, KY, he was the son of the late Jesse Samuel and Lilly Fields.

He was a retired roofer and of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by the following:
  • Two sons; Fred and wife Sharon Fields of Miamisburg, Ohio; and Randy and wife Shirley Fields of Hampton, Iowa.

  • Three daughters; Pam Taylor and husband Pat of Edmonton, KY; Laura Bodecker and husband Leroy of Hampton, Iowa; and Lida Acree and husband James of Geneva, Iowa

  • A son in law: Phil Wood of Glasgow, KY

  • Several grandchildren
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Velma Pauline Roach Fields; and a daughter Wanda Wood.

Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, in charge of arrangements.
